What is the difference between Fixed, Flexible, and Optional tasks?
Fixed tasks must happen at a specific time — they are locked in place. Flexible tasks must happen today but can shift to fit around fixed tasks. Optional tasks fill any remaining gaps in your day if time allows.
Why didn't some of my tasks appear on today's schedule?
Tasks that couldn't fit into your available time slots appear in the "Couldn't fit today" section at the bottom of the Today screen. You can tap Regenerate Day to try again with the current time — completing tasks frees up their slots for other tasks.
What does Regenerate Day do?
Regenerate Day rebuilds your schedule from the current time. Completed tasks free up their time slots, so other tasks can fill them. It's useful when your day hasn't gone to plan and you want DayForge to make the most of the remaining time.
How does scoring work?
Each task earns points when completed — 3 for fixed, 2 for flexible, 1 for optional. Snoozed tasks earn 1 point regardless of type, because snoozing is a conscious decision. Your daily score is your earned points as a percentage of possible points.
Can I edit a recurring task without affecting past entries?
Yes. When you edit a recurring task, you can choose to update only this occurrence, this and all future occurrences, or all occurrences including past ones. Past completion records are always preserved.
Is my data backed up?
All data is stored locally on your device. Premium users can export their data from Settings. We recommend exporting before changing devices or uninstalling the app.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play. To cancel, go to your device's subscription settings and cancel DayForge Premium. You will continue to have premium access until the end of the current billing period.
Does DayForge work with screen readers?
Yes. DayForge is built accessibility-first with full VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) support. Every interactive element has an accessibility label and hint. If you encounter any accessibility issues, please contact us — we take these reports seriously.
